William Henry “Bully” Hayes (c. 1829 – c. 1877) was a South Sea pirate born in Cleveland, Ohio, and is sometimes referred to as “the last of the Buccaneers”. He earned his nickname “Bully” as a result of his rude behavior toward his crew, although toward others he could be very charming if he chose to be.
